The Fostering Resilience Workforce Program, career and college readiness, supports youth and young adults aged 16 to 35 who face barriers to graduating, finding employment, or launching a career. Through holistic case management, training scholarships, educational programs, and supportive services, we help young adults develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for success in a 21st-century educational or workplace setting. Our program specifically advances the economic empowerment of Black and other people of color by providing access to essential resources and support.

Our Workforce Program aims to support individuals from minority and low-income backgrounds, particularly those impacted by the justice system, foster care, homelessness, or social service programs like SNAP, WIC, MediCal, and CalWorks. We are dedicated to advancing economic empowerment by equipping participants with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to excel in both college and career pathways.
Eligibility Criteria
We screen for both eligibility and suitability to ensure a successful program experience. Our target population includes:
• Individuals aged 16 and older
• Those from minority and low-income backgrounds
• Individuals impacted by the justice system, foster care, homelessness, and/or social services programs
Program Features

• Career and College Readiness Workshops: Prepare for the demands of the modern workplace and college environments.
• Subsidized and Unsubsidized Work Experiences: Gain real-world experience and build your resume with both paid and volunteer opportunities.
• Training and Certification Scholarships: Access scholarships for industry-recognized training programs to enhance your skills and qualifications.
• Career Advancement Support: Receive assistance with gaining advanced skills, negotiating compensation, and planning for career growth.
• SMART Goals Coaching: Work with mentors to set and achieve Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound goals for career and personal development.
